Overview

The BCS Level 1 Essential Digital Skills qualification is part of the government-recognised Essential Digital Skills Qualifications (EDSQ) suite, helping learners build the practical digital skills needed for everyday life and work.

Learners develop confidence in areas such as using operating systems and applications, organising and retrieving information, communicating online, using digital services safely, and protecting their data. BCS qualifications are approved and regulated by Ofqual (Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation).

Entry Requirements

  • Learners should be able to switch on a device and use a mouse, keyboard or touchscreen, and open an application from the home screen.
  • Learners should be aged 16 and over.
  • Learners should undertake Initial and Diagnostic assessment held by the College.
  • Our Recognition of Prior Learning policy means that students' previous learning and experience can be considered, and they may be awarded certain qualifications or units of a qualification based on that learning or experience.
